Solutions · Engineering and construction

Two engineers at the same desk can owe completely different CPD.

Professional institutions in engineering and construction set their own rules, and they do not agree with each other on hours, categories or even whether hours apply. aircpd models each one, so the person sees one plan and you see compliance against the right rulebook.

The shape of the problem

Engineering has no single continuing development rulebook. A licensing council oversees institutions that each publish their own rules, so a structural engineer and a civil engineer sitting side by side can owe very different things. Construction and surveying add their own, with core theme minimums and annual reflective statements.

At the same time, building safety regimes have moved toward judging competence as a combination of skills, knowledge, experience and behaviours, demonstrated rather than certified. That is an evidence problem, and most of the evidence, site learning, toolbox talks, supplier sessions, technical seminars, was never recorded anywhere.

Where aircpd helps

A rulebook per institution, not per product.

Dual-chartered professionals see one plan with each institution tracked separately underneath it.

Site learning, finally counted.

Toolbox talks, supplier sessions, technical seminars and conference days captured through a QR scan or proposed from a calendar, rather than forgotten.

Core themes and reflective statements handled.

The minimum spread across themes, the structured proportion and the annual reflective statement, each modelled as part of the rulebook rather than chased separately.

Competence you can show at any moment.

For duty-holder obligations judged on demonstrated competence, a continuous record beats a folder assembled the week before an audit.

“One engineering council, several licensed institutions, and no single rulebook between them.”
